Airport Security Training Services

NASS provides its clients, world wide, with security training services for all levels of security staff. The NASS team uses state-of-the-art Computer Based Systems (CBT) and highly skilled trainers to train screeners, profilers, security supervisors, cargo security personnel and others all according to ICAO and TSA requirements and standards.

Counter Terrorism

Terrorism is on the rise, and every public building or gathering may become a target. Police forces have to face new threats to public safety. Suicidal terrorism is unlike any other criminal activity, because the person committing it is willing to die in order to hurt innocent people.
NASS draws on its expertise in countering suicidal terrorist threats in order to offer law enforcement agencies the following public protection services:

Tactical defense: Studying the characteristics and weak points of the target area, deploying police forces, and managing crowd flow for best protection and throughput.

Detecting hostile persons: Screening the crowds, identifying potentially hostile persons, and verifying suspicions, based on the BPR method.

Interception: if all other measures fail, NASS teaches non lethal interception methods, with a special focus on suicide terrorists. (ITR- Immediate Tactical Response).

BPRTM

Behavior Pattern Recognition (BPRTM) is the best available method for detecting potential terrorists. The method was approved by American legal authorities and adopted by NYPD, Logan International Airport, British Airport Authority and others.
A terrorist about to attack behaves differently from innocent people. BPRTM trained agents search crowds for characteristic terrorist behavior. When they identify an irregularity, they approach the person and conduct a short voluntary encounter. A short, focused conversation is enough for the BPRTM agent to determine whether this person has hostile intentions.

BPRTM Features:

  • Pro-active, preventive approach.
  • Agents patrol crowds, searching for irregularities.
  • In case of suspicion, a short conversation allows BPR agents to decide if the person is innocent or hostile.
  • The best way to prevent attacks with objects not usually considered weapons, like the September 11 attack.
  • Human agents cannot be studied for weaknesses.
  • An effective method to detect pre-action intelligence gathering.
  • An effective means to protect the airport terminal.
  • Highly deterring.
  • Allows focused use of technological means to detect weapons.
  • No racial profiling.
  • Program approved by Massport legal advisor, and Attorney General of the state of Massachusetts.

Advantages of BPRTM Operation:

  • Pro-active, visible, search for terrorists.
  • No interference with regular customer flow.
  • Improved customer service.
  • Short training period.
  • Affordable relative to security technology.
  • Cost-effective.

Advanced Security Awareness (ASA) Training

A customized solution for non-security personnel in contact with the public. This solution is an expansion of the basic Security Awareness program, providing non-security employees with the ability to detect irregular behavior and appearance. Every employee, in whatever role, can become more aware of security issues. This program will add numerous alert observers to the security effort. It requires between 4 to 8 hours.
